Custom software for Australian businesses, built the way you work.
Devarko designs and builds custom software for Australian businesses: internal tools, customer portals, integrations and software products. Our head office is in Hobart and our senior engineers work from Lahore. Our work runs in production for clients in Kuwait, Pakistan and the USA, nine platforms in all, and we run Cargonio, our own freight ERP. You own the code from day one.
- 9: client platforms running in Kuwait, Pakistan and the USA
- 2: freight companies run their business on Cargonio, our own ERP
- 1 API: behind Bright Future’s web panel and both of its mobile apps
- 2: QA engineers check each release before it reaches you
§ 01Overview
Worth building when the process is the business
We map how the work really happens, then build the system to match it: the right roles and permissions, a record of every change, and links to the tools you already use. It arrives in phases your team can put to work.
Off-the-shelf software is the right answer more often than people expect, and when it is, we say so. Custom work pays off where the gap costs you every week: a job list that lives in a group chat, a month-end that needs someone to rekey invoices, or three systems that each hold a different version of the same customer. That is where software built for your process is worth the money.
We know this from both sides. We build platforms for clients, such as Bright Future, an e-learning platform in Kuwait with a web admin panel plus native apps for iOS and Android, all running on one Laravel API. We also run a product of our own. Cargonio is a multi-tenant freight ERP covering air and sea operations, invoicing with tax integration to Pakistan’s PRA and FBR e-IMS systems, double-entry accounts, HR and payroll. Two freight companies run on it every day, so live data migrations, releases and support tickets are part of our own week.
For Australian clients, you deal with an Australian point of contact at our Hobart head office, and our senior team in Lahore builds the work. Lahore mornings line up with Australian afternoons, so reviews, demos and urgent fixes happen while you are still at your desk. The code, repositories, hosting accounts and domains are set up in your name from the start.
Where it fits
- Moving jobs, approvals and rosters out of spreadsheets and group chats
- Customer, supplier and member portals with their own logins
- A software product you plan to sell into your own industry
- Connecting payment gateways, tax systems and the tools you already use
- Senior engineers. The people you speak to are the people writing the code.
- Any language, any framework. We choose the stack for the job, not out of habit.
- Checked before release. Two QA engineers test every build against your workflow.
- Owned by you. Code, repositories and accounts registered to you.
§ 02What you get
Six deliverables.
Internal tools and dashboards
Job tracking, approvals, rosters, stock and commissions, moved out of spreadsheets and into one system. Each person sees what their role allows, and every change is recorded with a name and a time. Most projects start here, because the hours lost are easy to count.
Portals and SaaS products
Logins for your customers, suppliers or members, or a full product you sell to others in your industry. Cargonio taught us the hard parts of multi-tenant software in production: keeping each customer’s data apart, their own settings and branding, and shipping one release to everyone without breaking anyone’s setup.
Payments and integrations
Payment gateways, government tax systems and the third-party tools your team already relies on. We have shipped MyFatoorah in Kuwait, Stripe for our US client and fiscal invoicing through Pakistan’s PRA and FBR systems. The real work is in retries, reconciliation and what the user sees when the other system is down.
Accounting and reporting
Double-entry ledgers that balance, invoices and statements generated as PDFs, and reports built after watching how your finance team works today. Cargonio alone carries over a hundred reports, and finance teams are the users who notice every mistake.
Web and mobile on one backend
One API behind the web app and the iOS and Android apps, so a business rule is written once and behaves the same everywhere. That is how Bright Future runs in Kuwait: a web admin panel and two native apps with secure video and online payments.
Rebuilds of older systems
Already have a system that half works? We read the code before we suggest replacing it. The safer path is usually to replace it one module at a time while the old one keeps running, so your team is never left without a working system.
§ 03How it runs
Four steps, in the open.
- Step 01
Watch the work first
Before we quote a build, we watch the job being done and talk to the people doing it: what gets typed twice, where things stall, which report someone actually reads. The requirements that matter most rarely make it into the brief.
- Step 02
Quote in stages
The build is broken into stages. Each stage ends with something your team can use in daily work, and each gets its own quote in AUD before it starts. Working software turns up early, and nobody commits to a year of guesswork based on a single document.
- Step 03
Build where you can see it
Each week there is a new version on a staging site you can log into and try. Our QA engineers check every release against the real workflow we mapped together rather than the literal ticket, because that is where the gaps show up.
- Step 04
Launch and stay on
We move your real data across, run the old and new systems side by side when the risk calls for it, and stay on afterwards on month-to-month support. Software built around a business keeps changing, and we plan for that from the start.
